In the wake of GIJ Brouhaha, the Chair and Leader of CPP, Nana Frimpomaa has called for a human face to the situation.
“The impact of COVID-19 hits parents of tertiary going students hardest. Most parents have lost their jobs and their very means of survival. It is on record that most of the students of GIJ fend for themselves and have no other means of survival. It has become imperative to look deeper into the real issues and have a human face to their plight. The directive to push students to defer their courses would only add to their woes. Our attitude towards student should be centered on building their strengths as we prepare them for proper social and commercial integration”, she said.
THE WAY FORWARD
Nana Frimpomaa in her capacity as the Chief Executive of Caring Kids International has set up a Special Fund to support GIJ students in dire need of financial support. As a former board member of GIJ, Nana Frimpomaa expressed her displeasure in the recent turn of events. “I understand the challenges students go through to complete their programs” she said.
She called corporate Ghana, Philanthropist, NGOs and Individuals with good networth to contribute to the special fund to ensure that the future of GIJ students are not truncated.
