It appears Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s political party, Convention People’s Party (CPP) keeps dwindling in terms of numerical strength, as many high profile party executives resigned from it, with the lattest being the CPP 2020 parliamentary candidate, Nabila Alhassan Basiru.
In what many people described as a shock, the CPP Nabila wrote on his Facebook page today, March 16, 2021 indicating that he was resigning from the party, while thanking the party’s elders for the opportunity to serve as Youth Organizer and 2020 PC.
It is not clear what has warranted his his resignation, and what he will be doing next in his life, but, his message indicated he will make that clear on his birthday in June this year.
Mr. Nabila took the opportunity to wish the CPP well.
Until now, the 2012 flagbearer of the CPP, Dr Foster Abu Sakara also resigned from the party.
In the letter dated January 4, 2016, Dr Sakara said his decision to resign from the party was due to the “culture of intolerance and indiscipline” within the party.

A CALL IT OFF MESSAGE TO THE CONVENTION PEOPLE’S PARTY ( CPP)
Well the journey started not today, Polling Station Secretary to Deputy Constituency Secretary. Acting Constituency Secretary to constituency Secretary to National Officer and to Parliamentary Candidate for the 2020 General Elections. Well rendered service, met lots of friends, opportunities offered, missed priorities on the course of discharge of duties, some offended and others applauded and encouraged to continue but IT’S TIME TO CALL IT OFF and move on to a new chapter.
Thank you Convention People’s Party for given me a great opportunity to served you. Thanks to the rank and file of the party, from my constituency thus Kumbungu, N/R level to the National level, I really appreciated your support, prayers, encouragement, the love shown me, i enjoyed my time with you all and am most grateful. Big Big Big thanks to the youth of the party for your support during my time as your leader, God bless you all. Thanks to all comrades that supported me in prayers, kind, cash, materials, came to supported me in campaigning in Kumbungu Constituency during the 2020 General Elections, I owed each one of you my biggest respect in life.
