In his first major move after being sworn in as New York City’s first Muslim mayor, Zohran Mamdani revoked executive orders banning the boycott of Israel and adopting the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
The decision breaks sharply with the policies of former mayor Eric Adams and delivers on key campaign pledges.
Mamdani formally abolished the city’s anti-BDS executive order, which had barred municipal agencies from boycotting or divesting from Israel.
