Head of CLOGSAG, Dr Isaac Bampoe Addo has warned the government to desist from playing what he describes as Chaskele with the contribution of SSNIT contributors.
Reports are rife that SSNIT intends to sell 60% of its shares in six of its hotels to the Agric Minister, Bryan Acheampong.
The move has been reported to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice by a Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Addressing the press on the issue, the Head of CLOGSAG, Dr Isaac Bampoe indicated that Labour Unions would strike if the government should go ahead with the transaction.
He indicated that it will be the mother of all strikes in the country if the transaction is made to happen.
“We want the government to know that these funds are not government funds, these funds are pension funds and pensions are guarded by Act 766 and we have investment guidelines under Act 766 and clearly these guidelines are not being followed. Government should be aware that we will not allow them to play chaskele with our funds, should they there it will be the mother of all strikes,” he said.
