Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa writes … The Money is BIG OOO!!! (In Sheikh I.C. Quaye’s Voice) — A Comparative Analysis of the Scandalous e-Transaction Levy Services Allocation in the 2022 Killer Budget

To put in proper context and to appreciate how humongous the sleazy budgetary allocation of GHS241,933,000 to the “special company” which government intends to put in charge of the obnoxious E-Levy, you need to take into consideration that the create, loot and keep booty is much bigger than the entire allocation of the following individual ministries as contained in the 2022 killer budget:

1) Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice (GHS195,539,000)

2) Ministry of Information (GHS151,896,000)

3) Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (GHS115,694,000)

4) Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (GHS83,259,000)

5) Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (GHS80,122,000)

6) Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (GHS8,111,000)

It is also worth pointing out that the GHS242million slush fund exceeds by far, the individual allocations to the following 10 cost centres:

I) National Identification Authority (GHS200,000,000)

II) Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty – LEAP (GHS197,535,000)

III) Zongo Development Fund (GHS154,200,000)

IV) Electoral Commission (GHS118,611,000)

V) National Commission for Civic Education – NCCE (GHS88,144,000)

VI) Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice – CHRAJ (GHS60,852,000)

VII) Micro Finance and Small Loans Centre – MASLOC (GHS50,000,000)

VIII) Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (GHS33,300,000)

IX) National Development Planning Commission (GHS22,409,000)

X) National Media Commission (9,026,000)

This will surely go down as the boldest attempt to steal from the Ghanaian people and the most heartless plot ever hatched by any government to extort from the poor and enrich a few family and friends.

Thank God for the vigilance that has led us to an early discovery of this grand scheme to create, loot and keep.

Now, let us wage the battle of our lives to defeat the cruel E-Levy and to foil this e-Robbery.
