Rodrigo Paz Pereira, President-elect of #Bolivia is perhaps floating in a dream world. His favorite slogan, “Capitalism For All” does not make sense at all. How can a system of exploitation built on slavery, classical colonialism, and today’s neo-colonialism be for all? That Pereira can believe that the exploiter and the exploited can have the same interest is not just shocking but also reveals his complete lack of scholarship. There can be no doubt that Pereira got to where he is today because the leadership of the Bolivian left clearly abandoned the interests of the working people and focused on an egoistic useless struggle for personal power. This is what happens when the left fails to build democratic organizations in which leadership is nothing more than a duty in the service of the working people.
