The Human Center for Democracy and Rights said that it had monitored an increase in the attacks of the Israeli occupation and its settlers against Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt) during January 2021.

The Center stated in a statement, a copy of which obtained by Safa, that it monitored settlers carrying out 51 attacks against Palestinians, in addition to the Israeli authorities’ announcement of 4 settlement plans to seize thousands of dunams to building settlers’ units and settlement expansion.

For the demolition and the notification of it, the center reported that the occupation forces had demolished 93 homes and facilities, issued 223 notices, and handed the citizen Nizam Abu Ramzou an order to evacuate his house in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan town, pointing out that 78 families in the neighborhood face the risk of eviction at any time in favor of the settlement associations.

It also monitored the occupation forces ’assault on the archaeological site “Khan al-Laban”, south of Nablus, which is under constant attacks by the occupation and settlers with the aim of seizing it, as it is located in the area connecting the settlements of “Eleih” and Ma’aleh Libonah”, and monitoring the occupation forces’ incursion into the archaeological site of Sebastia, and tightening measures in it to allow settlers to storm it.

The Center called on international community and the United Nations to intervene to pressure the occupation to stop its crimes, stop the racist policy of demolition, and assume its responsibilities as an occupying power, calling on the United Nations Human Rights Council and Fact-Finding Committees to play their role in protecting the Palestinians from the racism of the occupation.
