AU Chairmanship: President Mahama Receives Five Monumental Reports Ahead Of Historic 2027 Tenure

A High-Level Committee of Experts established by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to meticulously prepare for Ghana’s momentous 2027 African Union (AU) Chairmanship has successfully concluded its mandate and formally submitted five comprehensive reports to the President.

The reports contain a proposed strategic blueprint, priority pillars and an elaborate work programme to guide President Mahama’s tenure as AU Chair when he gloriously assumes the prestigious position in January 2027.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who chairs the committee, presented the reports to President Mahama at the Presidency on Friday, August 21, and highlighted key aspects of the committee’s assiduous work.

In a post on Facebook, the Minister said the preparatory work was aimed at ensuring that President Mahama’s tenure as AU Chair would be “transformative and impactful.”

The Minister stated that the committee’s work was informed by the President’s visionary vision for Africa and expressed unflinching confidence that the rigorous preparations would provide a formidable and solid foundation for Ghana’s leadership of the continental body.

The committee was established by President Mahama to develop the strategic framework and priority areas for Ghana’s 2027 AU Chairmanship.

He expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve Ghana and Africa and conveyed the committee’s best wishes to the President ahead of his assumption of the AU Chairmanship in January 2027.

President Mahama’s historic chairmanship will place Ghana at the forefront of efforts to advance the AU’s continental agenda and coordinate robust responses to key challenges confronting Africa.
