AKENTEN APPIAH MENKAH UNIVERSITY OF SKILLS TRAINING AND
ENTREPRENEURAL DEVELOPMENT (AAMUSTED) COLLECTIVE PRESS
RELEASE ISSUED IN COMMEMORATION OF THE FOUNDER’S DAY ON THE
21ST OF SEPTEMBER 2021.

By this day, we have come to realize that whoever said “Nkrumah Never Dies” should be
applauded. Historical facts have been twisted, distorted, and manipulated to denigrate and nip
in the bud the true personality, vision, and the mindset of the first president of Ghana, Osagyefo
Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to the younger generation of our country Ghana, the Africa continent,
and the whole wide world by elitist with intellectual dishonesty.

It comes as a surprise that someone who made all attempts to help liberate the people of Gold
Coast and the whole of Africa from colonialism would be accused of dictatorship by his rightwing opponents.
Thanks to the Socialist Movement of Ghana for compiling FIGHT BACK, which clearly give
responses to the falsehoods peddled against Nkrumah and also explains that indeed, Nkrumah
never dies.

The question of Founder’s Day on the position of the apostrophe before the letter ‘S’ will
forever remain. We have come to know that the UGCC started the liberation process of our
country and after the imprisonment of the six leaders including Osagyefo Dr. Kwame
Nkrumah, the other five denied having a hand in the riots and agitation of the ex-servicemen
and the people of the Gold Coast. It was clear that, the only person who accepted political
responsibility for the 1948 riots was Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Indeed, it is this lone spirit of Dr.
Kwame Nkrumah that rekindles the flames of freedom of the masses and the SOCIALIST
MOVEMENT OF GHANA (SMG).

On the occasion of Founder’s Day 2021, we rededicate ourselves to the ideals of the Osagyefo
for socialism and Pan Africanism and we will not rest until the working people of Ghana, Africa
and the World are liberated from all forms of exploitation.

We also demand the re-instatement of September 21st as Founder’s Day.

Long Live SMG
Long Live Ghana
Long Live Africa
