Krachi East MP offers reward for information leading to arrest of alleged impersonator

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi East, Mr. Nelson Kofi Djabab, has pledged a handsome reward to any constituent who provides credible information leading to the arrest of an individual accused of impersonating him and allegedly defrauding members of the public.

The MP made the appeal during a telephone conversation with madam Antoinette Agorsah, a radio presenter on Oti FM following reports that one MrTala Emmanuel had been using his name and office to offer purported security service recruitment opportunities in exchange for money.

According to information discussed the suspect allegedly collected GHC10,000 each from two individuals, GHC8,000 from another person, and GHC4,000 from a fourth victim under the pretext of securing recruitment into a security service.

Mr Djabab strongly denied any involvement in the alleged transactions, describing the claims as fraudulent and damaging to his reputation.

“I have no connection whatsoever with these alleged recruitment arrangements. Anyone using my name to collect money from people is acting illegally and should be reported to the police immediately,” he stated.

The MP said the actions of the alleged impersonator were not only defrauding unsuspecting members of the public but also undermining the integrity of his office.

He appealed to residents of Krachi East and the general public to remain vigilant and verify any employment or recruitment offers through the appropriate official channels before making payments or commitments.

Mr Djabab further called on the Ghana Police Service to thoroughly investigate the allegations and bring the perpetrator to justice.

“I am appealing to anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr Tala Emmanuel to assist the police. Any constituent whose information leads to his arrest will receive a handsome reward,” he added.

The Ghana Police Service has on several occasions cautioned the public against paying money to individuals who claim they can secure jobs or recruitment opportunities on behalf of security agencies, emphasizing that all official recruitment processes are transparent and do not require payments to intermediaries.
