Ranking Member on Parliament’s Finance Committee, Cassiel Ato Forson, has enumerated some government actions that he believes has contributed to the country’s current economic crisis.

Forson who is also a Former Deputy Minister of Finance, in a tweet, alluded to the fact that the Akufo-Addo led government had the largest size of government in the history of the country and that in 2017 the government had over 125 ministers which was unprecedented.
He further indicated that the government has over 1000 presidential staffers paid as article 71 office holders at the Jubilee House with many Special Assistants to ministers with emolument close to that of a Deputy Minister at the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
