The Gaza Board of Peace cannot be anything but a throwback to 1948 and the entrenchment of colonial rule. It is a reminder of the role played by the East Indian Company in the entrenchment of colonial rule in Asia. How can it be accepted that the Board which is responsible for governing Gaza has no Palestinian on it and its membership is for sale at a price of US$ 1 billion. It is striking that Netanyahu, the man who led the genocide in Gaza sits on the board chaired by the President of the country which supplied the bombs and intelligence for the destruction of the territory. This is a realization of the concept of “free” cities or states ruled by corporations. And where is the United Nations in all of this farce?
