Israeli police attack Jerusalemite citizens in Bab al-Amud

The Israeli occupation police on Saturday night attacked Jerusalemite young men in the Bab al-Amud area of the Old City and detained a number of them.

According to local sources, a Palestinian woman was injured when police forces savagely attacked and beat several young men during their presence in Bab al-Amud, set dogs on them, and rounded up six of them.

Two of those young men were detained after their suffering from injuries during the events.

The police also intensively fired stun grenades during the events and chased young men in Sultan Suleiman’s streets after forcing them to leave Bab al-Amud.

In recent days, police officers and extremist settlers escalated their acts of provocation and harassment against Jerusalemite young men in Bab al-Amud.

In a separate incident, violent clashes broke out between Jerusalemite youths and police forces in the Bir Ayyoub neighborhood in the Silwan district.

Local sources said that young men torched a pole carrying security cameras in the neighborhood and showered the police forces with a volley of firecrackers during the skirmishes.
