I’m For Alan ,Peter Amewu Shakes NPP With His “Alan Endorsement”

Read Time: < 1 minute

In a surprising turn of events, former Energy Minister John Peter Amewu has endorsed Alan Kyrematen for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential nomination.

Peter Amewu, the incumbent Minister of Railways, voiced his support for Alan Kyerematen’s presidential ambitions in his presence.

During his speech, Amewu revealed that during the previous presidential election, despite Kyerematen being his Godfather, he refused to cooperate with him and instead voted for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“When Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo stood for president in 2016, we NPP members in the Volta Region were confident that he would win… As most of you are aware, Alan is my godfather, and he asked me to work with him at the time. I told him, “Alan, I am unable to work for you because you must consider what is best for Ghana at the present time.”

Amewu continued by highlighting the significance of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s 2016 leadership in Ghana, not only for the NPP but for the entire country. He stated, “…What was best at the time was not just for the NPP, but the entire nation of Ghana demanded Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as their leader in 2016.”

The railway development minister further expressed his support for Alan Kyerematen by stating, “In Ghana today, it is not just the NPP party that is solidly behind Alan Kyerematen, but the entire country.”

The former Energy Minister’s support carries significant weight within the NPP
