Director of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Dr. Collins Rawlings Nunyonameh has stated emphatically that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was not overthrown due to dictatorship or corruption but rather for his success against imperialism
According to him, the Central Intelligence Act fear his example and success to such an extent that, with internal collaborators they facilitated his removal.
As part of an annual event, the Socialist Movement Ghana commemorated the First President, Osaegyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, reflecting on his successes and the events leading to his overthrow, observed as Ghana’s Day of Shame. The theme for this year’s commemoration was “60 Years after Ghana’s Day of Shame: Imperialism on the Rampage.”
