The Chief of Staff at the Office of the Vice President, Mr. Alex Segbefia, has assured the people of Agotime in the Volta Region that government will soon connect their communities to the Adidome Water Project to address long-standing concerns over potable water.
Speaking at the 2025 Agotime Kente Festival in Agotime-Kpetoe, Mr. Segbefia said the government is committed to resolving the water challenges that have affected households and economic activities in the area.
“Access to clean drinking water is not a privilege but a necessity. I want to assure the Paramount Chief and the people of Agotime that the Adidome Water Project will be extended to serve your communities,” he declared.
The assurance was in direct response to an appeal made by the Paramount Chief of Agotime, Nene Nuer Keteku IV, who had earlier highlighted the urgent need for potable water.
Mr. Segbefia explained that the extension of the Adidome project forms part of the government’s broader infrastructure agenda to improve living standards and unlock the development potential of the Volta Region. He added that water supply, alongside roads, healthcare, and energy, remains central to the government’s Big Push Agenda, a $2 billion annual investment programme over five years.
Beyond water, the Chief of Staff outlined other major initiatives earmarked for the region, including the Eastern Corridor Road, the Blekusu Sea Defence Project, agricultural expansion programmes, and the completion of the Ho-Denu Road. He further disclosed plans for the Ho Teaching Hospital to lead Ghana’s new medical tourism drive.
Mr. Segbefia also linked access to clean water and other social infrastructure to the growth of tourism, stressing that no visitor would be encouraged to explore Ghana if basic services were unreliable.
This year’s festival, themed “Woven Together: Kente, Agotime’s Creative Gift to the World,” brought together traditional leaders, government officials, and citizens in celebration of Agotime’s unique heritage as the custodian of authentic Kente weaving.
The Chief of Staff praised the people of Agotime for preserving a cultural legacy that has gained international recognition, pledging that government would match their efforts with tangible development projects to improve livelihoods.
Thanks for your post. I would like to say a health insurance specialist also works well with the benefit of the particular coordinators of a group insurance. The health insurance broker is given a summary of benefits sought by somebody or a group coordinator. Exactly what a broker does indeed is find individuals and also coordinators that best fit those needs. Then he offers his suggestions and if each party agree, the broker formulates an agreement between the two parties.
