ECG to disconnect Judicial Service light over GH¢762,000 debt

The Judicial Service owes ECG GH762,319.35 in power costs, despite delivering the institution a “demand notice”.

On Monday, April 11, 2022, at 12:40 pm, the ECG disconnected the Judicial Service.

The ECG’s National Disconnection/Revenue Recovery Task Force is pursuing about 29 significantly indebted institutions to decrease their obligations.

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has had its electricity withdrawn and restored many times over a GH1.6 million debt.

On the ‘red list’ are the UNDP, Communications Ministry, Entrance Pharmacy, Accra Sports Stadium, EOCO, and Internal Audit Agency.

The power distributor may disconnect the Judicial Service’s facilities from the national grid by Friday if no payment pledge or effort is made.

As of February 28, 2022, the Judicial Service has paid GH450,592
