The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has for the first time since 2017 presented a dividend to government, paying an amount of GH¢10 million to the Ministry of Finance.

The dividend was presented by the Board of Directors of the NLA led by Board Chairman, Hon. Frederick Amissah to the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson on Thursday, October 2, 2026.

Receiving the payment, Dr Forson described it as a welcome step, but stressed that it must not be merely symbolic.
“For the first time since 2017, the National Lottery Authority has presented a dividend to Government, paying GH¢10 million. This is a welcome step, but it must not be symbolic. The Ghanaian taxpayer deserves more,” the Minister said.
