SADR reiterates will to contribute effectively to success of African Continental Free Trade Area, achievement of African economic integration

Accra (Ghana), 9 October 2022 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic, represented by Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Minister of Trade, Mr. Salek Baba Hasena, participated in the 10th meeting of the Council of Trade Ministers of the African Union, held in Accra, Ghana,  on 7, 8 October 2022, in preparation for the Extraordinary Session of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union on the state of implementation of the agreement establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

In a press statement, the Sahrawi Minister affirmed commitment of the Government of the Sahrawi Republic to support the achievement of the development and prosperity of the continent, expressing sincere will to actively contribute to the realization of all conditions for the success of this agreement, especially in the context of implementing Agenda 2063, accelerating African economic integration and providing more job opportunities and development activity for Africans, especially young people and women.

Minister of Trade, Mr. Salek Baba Hasena, arrived Friday at Accra International Airport, where he was officially welcomed by the authorities of the host country and officials of the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat. He was accompanied by Mr. Hamad Ali, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the Sahrawi Republic in Ghana.
