Wounded prisoner enters her 7th year in occupation jails

The wounded Jerusalemite prisoner Marah Jawdat Musa Bakir, 22, from Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem, on Tuesday entered her seventh consecutive year of detention inside the prisons of the Israeli occupation.

The Jerusalem Prisoners’ Families Committee reported that the occupation forces had arrested Bakir, a minor girl, on October 12, 2015 after she was hit by 12 bullets while leaving her school in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, causing her severe injuries to the muscles and bones of the hand.

The occupation authorities charged the prisoner Bakir with a trumped-up charge of attempting to carry out a stabbing attack, and issued an unfair sentence to eight and a half years in prison, and imposed a fine of 10,000 shekels on her.

Bakir moved between several prisons, and is currently in the Damoon prison. During her arrest, she continued her study, and successfully passed the high school.

The prisoner Bakir also took the path of adults in helping her captive colleagues and relieving them, which later qualified her to become their representative inside the Damoon prison, facing the unjust prison administration and taking away the rights of the female prisonersSource : Safa
