The complexities of the historical dynamics of Ghana

Read Time: 2 minutes

Good morning, Comrade.

In the wake of the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as President of the Republic of Ghana the Ghanaian political landscape is awash with a certain high level of enthusiasm for change not only in Ghana but also across the African continent.

Such could be likened to the high level of expectations that was born out of the attainment of Ghana’s independence under the leadership of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1957 and to some extent in the wake of events in 1982.

The complexities of the historical dynamics of Ghana, however, occasion in us a certain caution in the light of some statements by John Dramani Mahama with respect to the development orientation of his Government.

I have deemed it important that as it happened in 1982 The Left would not rush into the foray without being properly armed with a clear understanding of the said complexities.

In that respect I have updated the attached collection of my thoughts and those of others at variance with them to focus our attention on those complexities to guide us in our attitude towards the expectations and commitments of the moment.

In my efforts, as reflected in the collection, I guided my thoughts with the principles of Alternative Development and Allied Initiatives as gleaned from the principles of Consciencism.

In that respect I have sought to be consistent.

Comrade, kindly find time to critically go through the contents of this 252 page collection to see whether in your considered opinion my contention that The Left should be guided by the principles of Alternative Development and Allied Initiatives deserves consideration.

From my standpoint a commitment to the application of the principles of Alternative Development and Allied Initiatives in The Left’s relations with the ‘new’ administration would fashion out a clear and handy framework within which to focus on the African revolutionary process.

In the Spirit of Positive Action Day.

Revolutionary Regards
