ISMAIL HANIYEH POLITICAL LEADER OF HAMAS

The Socialist Movement of Ghana (SMG) strongly condemns the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh,
the Political Leader of Hamas, as a cowardly act deliberately designed to subvert the effort to
achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.
It is undoubtedly a reckless act which can lead to a dangerous escalation of the conflict in West
Asia and throw the whole region into flames.
We call on all progressive and peace-loving forces in the world to firmly denounce this outrage and
to intensify solidarity actions with the people of Palestine struggling against apartheid colonial occupation.
Zionist acts of terror cannot undermine the Palestinian peoples will and determination to be free.

Kwesi Pratt, Jnr.
General Secretary.
