Psalm Adjetefio of ‘Taxi Driver’ fame is dead

Psalm Adjetefio, the veteran actor of ‘Taxi Driver’ fame who later hugged news headlines for soliciting for funds to cater for his accommodation and medical bills is reported dead.
Reportedly diagnosed with end-stage heart failure, TT is said to have passed this morning aged 74 when a son found him unconscious. He was rushed to a Dodowa Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Adjetefio popularly known as TT attracted eyeballs in the early 2000s following his role in the hit Village Communications series Taxi Driver as a cab driver engaging his clients who boarded his vehicle.
Many viewed the famed actor with a stern disposition when it emerged he abandoned his children and wife for a new woman. That relationship would later dissolve compelling the bulky actor to seek to amend the fractious relationship with his wards.

And so when news of soliciting of funds for his heart surgery emerged, some reckoned it was recompense for his thoughtless action.
The fallen star
Psalm Adjetefio started out as a trained teacher at the PRESEC staff school tutoring pupils in the Ga language. He would get his TV break when he earned an invite from Emmanuel Appea, the producer to feature in a movie.

A TV veteran, Psalm Adjetefio’s credits span The Chosen One, Ultimate Paradise, Taxi Driver, A Stab In The Dark, Expectations, My Heart, Dark Sand and James Town Fisherman.
His enlarged heart, swollen feet and general fatigue meant he couldn’t work productively a situation which led to the public call for help.

That call was heeded by the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who reportedly paid five years in rent advance for him and offered him GH¢20,000 cash donation.

Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey who also reportedly put him on a monthly GH¢1,500 stipend. Ayisha Modi and a host of people who reportedly gave sums to the tune of GH¢95,000.

On utilization of said funds, TT submitted on Jan. 11, 2021: “Land has become very expensive now where we stay, and other places too…right now, a plot of land costs GH¢30,000; so I got two plots…I paid for one straight away.”
He also disclosed using GH¢20,000 for a taxi for his son although the second plot costing GH¢30,000 is yet to be paid for.
