PNC Congress: Bernard Mornarh Elected As Flagbearer for 2024 Elections

Bernard Mornah has been elected Flagbearer at the just ended PNC Delegates Conference held on Saturday.

Bernard Mornah virtually swept all the regional votes, an indication that delegates of PNC decided to overwhelmingly endorse their former Chairman, Bernard Mornah as their Flagbearer going into the 2024 elections.

Bernard Mornah polled 1,354 whilst David Apesera polled 216 votes.

Earlier Bernard Mornah, after casting his vote told the media in an interview that he is confident of beating his opponents David Apesera owing to his track record as a politician and his contributions to the party.

According to him he is going to be a revolutionary president in the annals of the country adding that Ghanaians are going to remember him as the President who ensured that our local dialects became a national language.

“I am the people’s President and I am excited about the turn of events so far”, Mr. Mornah stressed.

The PNC Congress which was supposed to start at 9 am, delayed due to a purported injunction from the camp of David Apesera but the Party resolved the differences paving the way for the Congress.

Other positions being contested for include Chairman which is being contested by Samson Asaki Awingobit and Hajia Hajara Ali who is the acting Chair of the Party.

Mr. Awingobit won the Chairmanship race beating the veteran politician.

Later in a victory speech, the Flagbearer elect, Bernard Anbaayatela Mornah called for unity in the party and assured PNC members of his resolve to bring everybody on board the campaign.
