Paramount Chief of Kpandai calls for peace ahead of rerun election

The chiefs of Kpandai stepped up, calling for peace before the rerun election. After the Tamale High Court nullified the Dec 7, 2024 and ordered a fresh poll within 30 days.

Chiefs of Kpandai, together with the elders and fellow sub-Chief, address the ongoing dispute concerning the parliamentary seat of Kpandai constituency.

According to them, the recent division by the Tamale High Court ordering for a rerun in the Constituency and the notification of Parliament to the Electoral Commission declaring the seat of Kpandai constituency vacant.

Paramount Chief of Kpandai, Nana Bristiam Okore Atorsah II continue the speech by saying,they custodians of peace and tradition in the community, are urging all stakeholders, including political parties traditional leaders and the general public, to respect the judicial process and allow the courts to determine the final outcome without interference.

The Paramount emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, unity, and stability in the Kpandai constituency during this sensitive period.

The chief stated that, they discourage any actions or statements that may escalate tensions or undermine the rule of law.

He said, all they the chief of want and expect from the elected representatives is peace and development.

Nana Bristiam Okore Atorsah II added that the Kpandai constituency is behind in-teams of development. He stated that, there is scarcity of water, bad road network and poor electricity in the Kpandai District

He urged the government to come to their aid.
