Palestinian injured by settler gunfire in Sheikh Jarrah

A Palestinian young man was injured when an extremist Jewish settler on Monday morning opened fire at him near the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.

According to local sources, an armed settler fired live ammunition at a young man and injured him in his leg following a sit-in staged in solidarity with Sheikh Jarrah families, who are facing an Israeli plan to evict them from their homes.

Following the incident, the Israeli occupation police cordoned off the scene and allowed settlers to walk freely in the area.
