Ministry of Interior announces comprehensive closure in Gaza Strip to face coronavirus pandemic

A comprehensive closure was announced in the Gaza Strip yesterday evening, Thursday, which led to the suspension of all aspects of life for a week due to coronavirus pandemic.

“At 6 pm today, Thursday, intensive police deployment will begin in all areas of Gaza Strip,” said the Interior Ministry spokesman Al-Bazm.

He added that the Ministry of Interior has set new measures to face the pandemic, and we hope that the citizens will fully implement and adhere to the procedures so that lead to reduce the coronavirus cases in the Gaza Strip.

The movement of vehicles will be restricted on Friday and Saturday, while the movement of vehicles, transportation, and food without using vehicles will be allowed during the day.

After a week, a new assessment of the epidemiological situation will take place, and that we will be able to reduce the number of Coronavirus infections.

He stressed that facing the epidemic is a common task between government agencies and citizens, and if the citizen does not cooperate with us, we will be facing a very difficult reality.

He pointed out that the government authorities are trying to move away from the full closure in order to avoid its heavy burdens on the citizens.
