Marika Sherwood passes on

Read Time: < 1 minute

The Young Historians Project is deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of our longtime collaborator and friend Marika Sherwood. Marika was one of the founding members of the Black and Asian Studies Association (BASA) along with YHP consultant historian Hakim Adi. A veteran pioneer of Black British history, Marika dedicated her life to highlighting hidden histories and inspired future generations to continue her struggle. In August last year, YHP interviewed Marika, an account of which is provided in the blog linked below. YHP would like to extend our deepest condolences to Marika’s family and friends. Rest in power.
