Russia’s Foreign minister Sergey Lavrov
Rabat, 22 December 2023 (SPS) –
Russia’s Foreign minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated his country’s firm and unchanging position over Western Sahara conflict, expressing support for a “peaceful and sustainable” settlement based on UN resolutions.
“Our approaches remain unchanged, balanced and unbiased. We support making expeditious progress towards a sustainable and long-term settlement based on the relevant UN Security Council resolutions,” Lavrov said Wednesday, at a news conference in Marrakech, Morocco.
“We intend to pursue a policy aimed at working out a solution that would suit all parties,” he said, causing embarrassment to the Moroccan regime, which procrastinates in the implementations of the decisions of the United Nations, whose “central role” was stressed by the Russian Foreign Minister.
“We are adamant that everyone must fully respect the cultural and civilizational diversity in the modern world and every nation’s right to determine their own future,” he stressed.
