Kano State Internal Revenue Service has launched the first mobile motor licence centre in the state.

Gatekeepers News reports that the mobile centre will host a state-of-the-art digital Motor Licence Office, which is said to be the first of its kind in Nigeria.

The Executive Chairman, Dr. Zaid Abubakar revealed this while unveiling the mobile centre during KIRS Day at the ongoing 45th Kano International Trade Fair on Friday.

He said the mobile motor licence centre introduced by the agency is geared towards a robust revenue generation drive that will improve the state revenue generation.

Abubakar said Kano State Government, under Governor Abba Yusuf is committed to ensuring that revenue is paid easily as soon as it is due by eligible bodies.

The chairman explained that the newly introduced IT-driven licence centre will assist in boosting the state’s Internally Generated Revenue.

He said, “This facility is the first of its kind in Nigeria, that is Kano state is the first to launch such a centre which is IT-driven to register vehicles anywhere and at any time. This attempt will ease the process as well as reduce unforeseen obstacles usually encountered.”

KIRS Executive Director of Compliance and Enforcement Group, Muhammad Aliyu, said the service had inaugurated two mobile centres for now with the hope of expanding with many other mole centres to be able to cover the state effectively.
