Here Are The Actual Dates For Reopening Of All kindergarten, Primary, JHS, SHS And Tertiary Schools

Late in 2019 around December, the world was hit with a deadly disease called covid-19 pandemic which started in China, it started spreading widely of which it crossed the borders of the our dear country Ghana, way of live started changing when the virus started spreading in the country. Since the virus crossed the borders of Ghana, the president have been always updating the country on the issues of covid-19 and some measures taken against the spread of corona virus.

On the 15th March, 2020, the president called for the closure of all schools and other social mass gathering activities, but as time goes on the president was releasing restrictions on our social lives, of which it started on schools.

Ghanaians were anticipating on when schools reopens, the president in one of his nation’s address told Ghanaians that all schools reopens on January 2021 but he didn’t give the specific date on that. The final date for reopening schools is out now, on Sunday 3rd January, 2021, the president addressed the country on measures taken against the spread of the coronavirus.

In his Nation’s address, the president made it clear that, on the 15th January, our children in kindergarten, primary and Junior High, in both private and public schools, will be back in school. All SHS 1 students will start classes from 10th March, with all students embarking on a single-track academic calendar. Their seniors in SHS 2 and SHS 3 will, however, return to school from 18th January. I must stress that SHS 3 students in all schools, like SHS 1 students, will no longer run the double track system.

The transmission of the virus have been limited but it is not out of the country, to reduce the risk of transmission, citizens are advised to abide by the following measures: Frequently clean hands by applying an alcohol-based hand rub or washing with soap and water. When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue; if used, throw the tissue away immediately and wash hands.

If experiencing a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or any other symptoms suggestive of respiratory illness, including pneumonia, call emergency services before going to the doctor or hospital to prevent the potential spread of the disease.
