Harry Belafonte, the King of Calypso Music is gone.

May his soul rest in perfect peace. “Jamaica Farewell”, “Matilda” and “Judy Drowned” are some of my favorites from his large repertoire of music.

Harry Belafonte will always be greatly remembered for his pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement in America and activism for the emancipation of Black People and all oppressed peoples of the world.
