The Former National Democratic Congress (NDC), for the Amasaman Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Okai Laryear, has been accused of defrauding members of the Fitii We family of a whopping sum GHC100,000
According to the alledegd information, the former NDC MP in the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama’s administration has used his position to benefit from the property meant to benefit current members and future generations of the family.

Nii Okai Laryea is therefore standing trial at the Sowutuom District Court for the conduct, which is described by the members of the family as criminal.

Narrating the situation to journalists, Chief of the Fitii We Family, Nii Kwako Fitii IV, said, “Nii Okai Laryea been a member of the family was ordered by the family to lead the family in protecting all properties belonging to the family. He would rather use the opportunity given him and illegally transact businesses on behalf of the family to generate a huge sum of monies to enrich his personal pocket.

He stated that after checks by members of the family, it was realized Nii Laryea was only only illegally selling their lands as well as winning sand on the entire land to enrichen himself.

“Nii Laryea on one occasion approached the members of the family that he was going to use his personal money legally register land to prevent from enchroachers where we gave him green light and even promised him of a 10% offer. It later came.to our realisation Nii Okai Laryea rather went to collect the money he used in registering the land from the Saviour Church of Ghana who were also illegally occupying a portion of our land after he was given his promised percentage” he disclosed.

The Chief further stated that family was then having 1,82.96 acres of land but was able to officially register just 769.39 due to encroachment after 10% was freely given to Nii Laryea fro his tireless efforts in securing the property for the family before his expose.

“Nii Okai Laryea has also illegally registered 309 acres of the land in his company’s name without the notice of the members of the family,” he disclosed.
He also said that the family is in court with Nii Pkau Laryea to officially account to the family after his refusal to accept our invitation for accounting purposes.

The Chief described the action by the Nii Okai Laryea as illegal, which goes a long way to create confusion among the within the seven gates that form the Fitii We Family.
According to the Chief, whilst in court, the Nii Okai Laryea has persistently been attacking member sof the family with his team of languards anyyime they visited the land.
