Former Black Star Captain Stephen Appiah sends cryptic message ahead of 2022 World Cup

Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah posted a message on his social media handles which has sparked comments on whether if he considers a return to the Black Stars for the 2022 World Cup.

Football fans to have reacted to the post juxtaposed his message to that former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan who has stated emphatically he wants to go to the 2022 World Cup if he is fit and considered.

Stephen Appiah in a post with him performing a physical exercise wrote, “I do not like the red carpet, I prefer the green pitch”.

The former Juventus, Fenerbache star played at two World Cups with the Black Stars.

Stephen Appiah qualified the team to the 2006 World Cup in Germany where he scored against USA to help Ghana qualify to the Round of 16 and where eliminated by Brazil.

Appiah also played at the 2010 World Cup where Ghana reached the quarter finals.
