Ghana’s Auditor-General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo has recently been acknowledged by the Ghana Integrity Initiative as the Integrity Personality of the Year.
Domelovo’s award is in recognition of his unrelenting and sole efforts in fighting corruption and helping in retrieving monies. But following the Ghana Integrity Initiative’s (GII) recognition of the Auditor-General, NPP stalwart and cousin of the President Akufo-Addo, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, questioned why Daniel Yaw Domelevo will be touted for saving the state only Ghc60m. He opined the bar for the Ghana Integrity Award has been set “far too low” for Ghana’s Auditor General. “… if saving the nation “GHS60m” is what qualifies a public servant or a patriot to win then I can think of several ministers, CEOs, media houses (journalists), civil society groups, who have done much more and saved the nation more. The bar is far too low,” Gabby posted on his Facebook.
