The Accra Collective of the Socialist Movement of Ghana condemns in the strongest terms the shameless interference of Israeli Ambassador Roey Gilad in Ghana’s sovereign affairs. This representative of a genocidal apartheid regime has crossed all lines of diplomatic propriety by publicly attacking Ghana’s independent foreign policy stance at the IAEA, exposing the racist colonial mentality that believes it can dictate terms to African nations while slaughtering Palestinians in Gaza.
Ghana’s tradition of non-alignment and anti-imperialist solidarity is not for sale. We
categorically reject this attempt by a representative for settler-colonialism to lecture us
on international affairs. A state built on ethnic cleansing that is currently committing
genocide against Palestinians has zero moral or legitimate authority to speak on
matters of peace or justice.
The ambassador’s double standards expose Zionist deceit, while demanding Ghana
abandon its neutral stance, his rogue state stockpiles nuclear weapons outside nonproliferation
treaties. While lecturing others on international law, Israel defies ICJ rulings and UN resolutions on genocide. While spreading anti-Iran propaganda, even U.S. intelligence confirms Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian government’s continued collaboration with this apartheid
regime through bilateral agreements makes us complicit in war crimes. Every
handshake with Israeli officials is stained with Palestinian blood. Agricultural and
cybersecurity partnerships with a genocidal state are a betrayal of our revolutionary
heritage.
We demand the Mahama administration immediately expel this Zionist envoy and
sever all diplomatic and economic ties with the apartheid Israeli state. Ghana must
fully support South Africa’s ICJ case against Israeli genocide. We cannot continue to
cooperate with a genocidal apartheid regime, Ghana must stand on the right side of
history.
We urge all progressive forces, trade unions, and civil society to join us in demanding justice and maintaining our sovereignty.
Enough is enough!
