Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has outlined measures that his next government will implement to reduce the price of food and other essential commodities if elected as the president of Ghana again in the December 7 polls.

He said there is the need to halt the hardship on people and go back to the days of price stability to bring relief to Ghanaians.
In a post on his X, Mr. Mahama said among other things his administration will scrap six draconian taxes which include the E-levy, Covid levy, 10% bet winning tax, Emission levy to reduce hardship.
Adding the NDC government will reset the unjust VAT system to help reduce the price of food and other essential commodities.
“I am clear in my mind what has to be done to halt the daily increase in the price of food and other essential commodities because of the economic mismanagement by the government of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia.” He said.
