Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency Honourable Kofi Iddi Adams has threatened that all members of the Electoral Commission who misconducted themselves in the just ended Presidential and Parliamentary elections will be removed from office.

In an interview on Pan African Television’s “TALK TIME” programme, Honourable Adams said the process of removing these officials from office will be lawful and constitutional.

In the interview hosted by Kwesi Pratt Jnr, the Buem legislator said the Electoral Commission cannot claim any credit for the smooth administration of the electoral process.

“It was our vigilance which did the trick” he said.

According to Honourable Kofi Adams, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had to fight two opponents in the election, the Electoral Commission and the New Patriotic Party(NPP).

He claimed that before the election,Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission in charge of Corporate Services Dr Bossman Asare displayed bias when he publicly declared that the NDC is an existential threat to democracy in Ghana. He further claimed that many officials of the Electoral commission connived with the New Patriotic Party to delay the declaration of the election results to enable them fiddle with the results.

“It is our vigilance which gave us this landslide victory” he claimed.

The Member of Parliament for Buem said the NDC is hoping to win 190 seats out 276 in Parliament to set an absolute majority.

However, he was emphatic that the NDC will use this majority responsibly.

“Ghanaians can be assured that this huge majority will be used responsibly because they have elected a President and a Party whose focus is on improving the quality of life of the people of Ghana” he said.
