Article 21(I:d) of the 1992 #constitution is very clear. It states that “All persons shall have the right to #freedom of assembly including the freedom to take part in processions and #demonstration”. It is clear from this that the #constitutional #right to demonstrate is unfettered. However, the #Rawlings government got #Parliament to pass the #Public #Order #Law which placed so many fetters on the right to demonstrate including prior information to the #police and in cases of disagreement with the police, reference to the High #Court for a decision on whether a demonstration should be allowed or not Interestingly, all political parties in opposition including the National Democratic Congress (#NDC) have expressed discomfort with the Public Order Law at one time or the other. Perhaps it is time to take a serious look at the #PublicOrderLaw with a view to restoring the full unfettered right of the citizen to #demonstrate. Which #Parliamentarian will lead this effort?

Hey there! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had issues with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
