Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has issued a directive for the national flags at public buildings across the country to be restored to their full mast, signaling the culmination of the country’s mourning period for the eight distinguished public officials who tragically perished in a catastrophic military helicopter crash on August 6, in the Ashanti region.

The government’s heartfelt statement, released on August 18, acknowledged the immense comfort derived from the collective gestures of goodwill, including the soulful messages of condolence, dignified attendance at the state funeral, and generous acts of kindness extended to the bereaved families.

“We are deeply moved by the outpouring of solidarity shown across the nation and beyond,” the statement read. “Your messages of sympathy, your attendance at the state funeral, your practical assistance, and the many acts of kindness extended to the bereaved families have provided great consolation in this time of sorrow.”

The Presidency extended special gratitude to individuals and corporate organizations whose selfless support ensured that the victims received a dignified state burial, a fitting tribute that honored their memory and reflected Ghana’s profound sense of loss and compassion.
