CELEBRATING 70 YEARS OF THE MONCADA ATTACK

Read Time: 2 minutes

The day when courageous men rose to defend the rights of the masses. Today in history 70 years ago, it is commemorated as the day when evil claws of oppression were confronted with the fullest vigour of brave and courageous revolutionaries against the oppressive regime of Fugencio Batista.

The attack on cuartel moncada marked the beginning of Cuba, rising from the ashes to the glowing light that triggered the momentum for the fight against imperialism.

This struggle for freedom, even though failed in its first attempt, set the path that led to the liberation of the Cuban people, hence its victory in 1959.

On this day as we remember the fallen heroes of moncada, let us remember the cuban people in their struggle to free themselves from the heinous crime of the west against them through an unjustified and inhumane economic sanctions on this sovereign nation.

Africa has a voice ! A voice that is much louder than mere words and rhetorics, to convert our support into real actions that would dismantle this ring of containment, planned and executed by the forces of evil to inhibit Cuba to exercise her right to self determination.

Today, we stand united with the Cuban people to condemn the actions of the Western powers for their role in unleashing such a devastating economic blockade on Cuba.
We demand immediate action from the UN to confront the perpetrators of this heinous act to lift the sanctions now.
Long live Cuba 🇨🇺 Long live the Revolution
