Bernice Adiku Heloo, a former member of parliament representing Hohoe, has died.
After a brief illness, she passed away early on Wednesday, December 25.
From January 7, 2013, to January 6, 2021, Heloo served as the representative for the Hohoe Constituency in the 6th and 7th Parliaments of Ghana’s 4th Republic.
She was a well-known supporter of women’s empowerment and health in addition to her position in parliament.
She founded Prolink, a social development-focused non-governmental organization in Ghana, and was president of the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa.
The Volta Region’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in sorrow following her passing.
Although regional leaders have acknowledged the heartbreaking news, no formal comment has been released as of yet.
