ANNOUNCEMENT

Read Time: 2 minutes

Further to our earlier announcement on the temporary need for the regulation and management of electricity demand/load, the Management of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) wishes to inform the general public especially, its cherished customers in the Tamale Metropolis that power was restored to Feeder 3 at 1105pm or thereabouts on Saturday, May 01, 2021 and to Feeder 2 at 0500 am on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

Since then power supply had been generally stable until 2:00 pm or thereabouts on Sunday. May 02, 2021 when the need arose for Feeder 4 (NORRIP Village, Kamina, Choggu, Gurugu, Jusonaayili, Kanvili and their environs) to be temporarily taken off the grid. As usual, the situation is being monitored closely. All things being equal, power should be restored to Feeder 4 around 6:30 pm after which it shall be the turn of Feeder 6 to sacrifice a little for the rest. Later in the night, when the situation abates, power shall be restored to Feeder 6 (Stadium Round About. Part of Nyohini, Lamashegu, Lamakara, Industrial Area, UDS- Dungu Campus, Japan Motors, Kakpayili and their environs).

As indicated earlier, this arrangement continues until further notice (when the challenge at the Adubiliyili 330 Kv substation together with the underground cable challenge are resolved which should be sooner than later ).

Meanwhile, please, be assured that fervent efforts are underway to resolve these two challenges soonest in order to return power supply to normalcy ASAP.

Please, accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Further details will be announced later.

Thank you.
