“Ali-Masmadi Kweku Jehu-Appiah was an extraordinary individual whose legacy continues to inspire. Born in 1957 and passing away in 2023, he left an indelible mark on the lives of countless people through his unwavering commitment to fairness, equity, and justice. He was more than a militant in the struggle for oppressed people. As the Founder and Chairman of Food Sovereignty Ghana, he championed food security, sustainable agriculture, and the rights of farmers. His work extended beyond borders, advocating for the protection of traditional seeds and farmers’ rights across Africa.
Despite the physical distance due to his exile, Ali-Masmadi maintained a strong bond with his loved ones. His relationship with his Mother, siblings, children, nephews and nieces was marked by love, kindness, and shared memories. Ali-Masmadi’s wisdom and humour left a lasting impact, emphasizing the importance of truth and love.
Ali-Masmadi Jehu-Appiah’s legacy lives on, reminding us of the power of compassion, activism, and the pursuit of a just world. With his composition and singing of revolutionary songs that inspired action, he left behind so much for us to tap into. Happy birthday”. Fondly remembered by all.
