The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku, on Monday, March 3, 2025, led the technical team of the Black Stars to meet with the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams at his office.

The visit was to officially introduce the newly constituted technical team of the male senior national team to the Minister, and also seek his blessings as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Mr. Okraku expressed confidence in the team’s ability to qualify Ghana to yet another World Cup while underscoring the importance of the Minister’s support in ensuring success at the global football tournament.

Meanwhile, the Sports Minister, who welcomed the delegation, assured the FA of his commitment to supporting the Black Stars, stating that his office operates an open-door policy.

Mr. Kofi Adams therefore entreated the visitors to call on him whenever the need arises.

He however charged the technical team to work cohesively to secure Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as he advocated for an “all hands on deck” approach for the manifestation of the this aim.

Members of the delegation included: Head Coach – Otto Addo, Technical Director – Mr. Winfried Schäfer, and Assistant Coach – Desmond Ofei.

The Black Stars are second behind Comoros on the qualification table and are looking forward to defeat Chad and Madagascar in their subsequent qualifying fixtures respectively to bolster their chances.
