NDC Flagbearership Race: Duffour and Others Should Allow Mahama to go unopposed – Political Analyst

The Director of Operations for ADAM-GH, a Civil Society Organization, Mr. Ibrahim Adams Mumuni has stated that a lot of Ghanaians are wailing about hunger and economic hardship in the country as days go by as a result of poor leadership from the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo and his ministers with most Ghanaians calling for a change of government to ensure economic improvement and eradication of hardship.

Mr. Adams Mumuni speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwaku Mensah Abrampa stated that due to the poor performance of president Akuffo Addo and his NPP government, it is an indisputable fact that he remains the only hope for Ghana so far as good governance and better economic management are a concern. He stressed that the Ghana we want can only be built if the NDC and Ghanaians accept the former president to hold the mantle as a flagbearer and subsequently be given the mandate to serve as a president in the 2024 general elections.

He added that The country is going through a serious economic crisis and it is a must for us to get an experienced hand as our next President after Nana Addo to drastically transform the economy for a better future hence John Dramani Mahama is the right choice to steer the affairs of the country mismanaged economy, therefore the NDC party is seriously in the rescue mission of which they must build a united front within the party to help them achieve their ambitions.

He further pleaded with the party to ensure serious consensus-building to facilitate their winning mentality for the 2024 general elections denoting that ADAM-GH is not against contests in the flagbearer position of the NDC but only to draw the attention of those who have the ambition to contest John Mahama to withdraw their plans and offer full support for him to build a strong party to face the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Ibrahim Adams Mumuni indicated that the consistent calling for John Dramani Mahama to lead the NDC and for that matter Ghana after the 2024 elections gives a clear indication of how Ghanaians have missed the effective and strategic governance he put up when he held the mantle as president from 2012- 2016 stressing that no one needs to be surprised with the rampant call by Ghanaians for John Mahama.

He said it is obvious because some of the ruling NPP leaders in parliament recently called for the dismissal of a minister of the state which ostensibly indicates a general call for change in governance as a result of the bad leadership of the Nana Addo Government.
He has therefore called on the NDC not to be complacent as a result of the constant call for change by Ghanaians but should rather ensure the building of a great united party to be able to combat the NPP in the 2024 general elections which he said it can only be achieved if John Mahama is allowed to go unopposed in the flagbearer contest.
